Game Notes

3/4 Florence Tide 1

 Barrington Fire 1

Tide play to a tie

The Tide played the Fire to a 1 - 1 tie.  It was a cold and windy day and it even snowed briefly.  Early on Barrington took a 1-0 lead in the first half as the Tide played short-handed with only 10 players on the field.  But, the Tide, at full strength,  battled back with the equalizer in the second half when Cayla scored on a long shot assisted by Cori and Lorraine.  The Tide had other scoring chances including a shot by Amanda that hit the post.  Brigitte did a great job in goal, and this was her first experience playing goalie in travel soccer.  Nice job by the whole team.

3/11 Wenonah Wildfire 3

Florence Tide 0

Tide were sluggish

Early on the Tide were taking it to Wenonah winning every ball but missing on numerous scoring opportunities.  However, as the game wore on the Tide got tired because of no subs and the Wildfire looked fresher and faster as they had the extra bodies on the sidelines.  The Tide played sluggish for the remainder of the game and Wenonah took advantage of the exhausted Tide team to walk away with a 3 - 0 victory.

3/18 postponed
3/25 Upper Township SC Twisters 2 - Florence Tide 1

Tide Suffers Another Frustrating Loss

On a sunny warm day the Tide traveled to Cape May County to play the Upper Twp. SC Twisters.  The trip was long but the ride home was even longer.  The Tide appears to be setting a bad trend of missed opportunities as they suffered another loss this time at the hands of the Twisters, 2 - 1.  For the most part the Tide controlled the game moving the ball inside the opponents goal area on numerous occasions but just couldn't seem to put the ball in the back of the net.  The Twisters were fortunate to counter the Tide attack and were able to convert on several Tide mistakes to walk away with the victory.  Cayla scored the Tide's lone goal in the second half assisted by Cori and Lorraine.  Angela recorded a shut out in goal in the first half.

4/1 Florence Tide 4 - Kingsway Lady Dragons  2

Tide Rebound By Slaying the Lady Dragons

On a cool overcast day, the Tide traveled to Logan Township to take on the Kingsway Lady Dragons.  The Tide displayed a good effort to post a 4 - 2 victory.  Cayla led the attack with two goals while Lorraine had a goal and an assist and Olivia had a goal.  Brigitte finished with three assists, and Amanda L., Krista and Angela each had single assists. Cori played stellar in goal to preserve the victory.

4/22 Lumberton Lazers 3 - Florence Tide  0

Tide Yo-Yo Season Continues

On a beautiful warm day in Florence, the Tide just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net.  They had their chances but were frustrated through out the game as they lost to Lumberton, 3-0.

4/29 Burlington Twp. Spirit 2 - Florence Tide  0

Scoreless Trend Continues

On a beautiful, warm and windy day in Burlington, the Tide's scoring drought continued.  The Tide lost 2-0 as the Spirit netted two first half goals.

Tide Battle Spirit To a Tie
On a windy weeknight in Florence, the Tide played the first place Burlington Twp. Spirit to a hard fought 3-3 tie.  It was an exciting game to watch, with end-to-end action throughout.  Both teams displayed heart and battled to the end. Alyssa led the Tide attack with a goal and two assists while Cayla and Amanda B. each had single tallies. Lorraine and Morgan each had an assist.
