Mainland United 2 - Florence Fire 0 |
Fire Frustrated By Mainland's Goalie The Fire traveled from snowy Florence to sunny, windy and cold Linwood (Margate) NJ to play the Mainland United SC. It was a game of missed opportunities for the Fire, and they faced a hot goalie in the second half. Time after time Mainland's goalie came up big making at least four tremendous saves to keep the Fire off of the score board. While the Fire were knocking on the door on numerous occasions the Mainland team countered quickly to score 2 goals including a 35 yard shot that floated high into the Fire's goal that pretty much took the drive out of the Fire attack. |

Florence Fire 3 - PYAA Hurricanes 0 |
Fire Battle Back With A Strong Victory On a sunny breezy day in Florence, the Fire played a hard fought game to walk away with 3 - 0 victory over the Hurricanes. The first half was 0 - 0, but the Fire woke up in the second half putting constant pressure on the Hurricanes. Greg scored early off of an assist by Ron who threw in the ball to Greg who hit a half volley shot in the corner of the goal. Heath followed with two beautiful goals assisted by Ron, Kendrell and Shawn. These were Heath's first goals in travel soccer...way to go! Zack played well in goal to record the shut out. |

Cherry Hill FC Thunder 3 - Florence Fire 1 |
Fire Play Inconsistent The yo-yo season for the Fire continues. On a cool overcast day the Fire travelled to Cherry Hill to take on the FC Thunder. It was also a day that the Fire team wore black wrist bands in honor of Zack's mom, Terry, who recently passed away. In fact, Zack played in the game as well. You would think that this would inspire them to play good, hard soccer through out. Unfortunately, the Fire played inconsistent. They had their chances but constantly missed on numerous scoring opportunities, and the Thunder did enough to post a victory. Ron scored the Fire lone goal assisted by Zack and Greg. |

Edgewater Park Cannonballs 1 - Florence Fire 0 |
Fire Let Game Slip
Away
On a beautiful warm day in
Florence, the Fire suffered a frustrating loss to the Cannonballs,
1-0. For the most part the Fire controlled the game but could not
finish their shots. It was a nice game to watch as both teams
displayed some nice soccer. Late in the second half with the
score knotted at 0-0, the Fire had an apparent game winning goal
taken away by a questionable call from the referee. This frustrated
the boys as they were flat for the remainder of the game and with
less than 5 minutes remaining the Cannonballs scored the game
winner.

Florence Fire 4- Highland SC Vipers 2 |
Fire Rebound With A Strong Victory
On a beautiful, warm and breezy day in Florence, the
Fire defeated the Vipers, 4-2. Early on the Fire had to face a
stiff wind and a determined opponent, and were down by two goals.
But, they rebounded well to dominate the game thereafter to walk
away with a well deserved victory. Heath led the attack with two
goals and an assist; Greg had one goal and two assists; Kendrell had
one goal and two assists; and, Zack, Ron and Shawn each had one
assist. Zack and Dalton each shared duties in goal.

Florence Fire 2 - West Deptford SC Fury 0 |
Fire Continue To Play Solid Soccer
On a cold, windy and sunny day in West Deptford, the
Fire stayed hot by defeating the SC Fury, 2-0. Ron scored both
goals assisted by Heath, Daniel, Zack and Greg. Both Zack and
Dalton shared duties in goal to preserve the shutout.

Florence Fire 3 - Edgewater Park Cannonballs 0 |
On Mother's Day Fire
Avenge Loss in a Big Way
On a breezy, sunny Mothers Day
in Edgewater Park, the Fire avenged an earlier season loss by
dominating the Cannonballs, 3-0. Heath registered a "hat trick" as
he scored 2 goals in the first half and the final tally in the
second half. The goals were assisted by Greg (2), Ron, Dakota, Mike
F., and Kendrell. The defense played stellar led in goal by
both Zack and Ron supported by Daniel, Dakota, Jake, Shawn, Doug and
Troy.
