Florence Fire - 4

Woodstown Wildfire - 0

The Fire traveled to Woodstown, NJ to play under wet and raw elements to walk away with a 4 - 0 victory over the Woodstown Wildfire.  Leading the way for the Fire was Ron Lind with two goals, followed by Greg Perri with a goal and an assist, Dalton Craft with a goal, Shawn Carmignani with an assist, and Doug MacArthur with an assist.  In goal for the Fire were Zach Ronyack, Dalton Craft and Dakota Benish.

4/10

Florence Fire - 1

Pennsauken - 1

The Fire tied the Pennsauken Hurricanes, 1 - 1.  It was an exciting game from start to finish as the top two teams in the South Continental Conference displayed aggressive soccer with precision passing.  For the most part however, the Fire had more scoring opportunities but couldn't capitalize.  In fact, the Hurricanes scored early in the second half to take a 1 - 0 lead which held up for most of the second half.  But, the Fire wouldn't give up as they put tremendous pressure on the Hurricane's defense and finally broke through with the equalizer with four minutes remaining, scored by Doug MacArthur assisted by Ron Lind and Greg Perri.  Zach Ronyack made some nice saves in goal to preserve the tie.

4/14

Florence Fire - 1

Northern Burlington - 1

The Fire battled the Northern Burlington Dragons to a 1-1 tie.  In fact, the Fire were fortunate to walk away with a tie.  They appeared to be sluggish throughout the game as the Dragons were beating the Fire to almost every loose ball.   However, the Fire capitalized first late in the first half when Shawn Carmignani sent a cross deep in the Dragon's goal area.  The Dragon's goalie tried to clear the ball by kicking it but he hit his own teammate which deflected the ball into their own goal.   It looked as though the score would remain 1-0 even though the Dragon's were outplaying the Fire.  But, with about 10 minutes remaining in the game the Dragon's tied the game on a penalty kick as a result of a hand ball.  Zach Ronyack made some nice saves in goal to preserve the tie.

4/21

Florence Fire - 3

Egg Harbor Earthquakes - 0

The Fire dominated play throughout as they defeated the Egg Harbor Earthquakes, 3-0.  Ron Lind started the scoring with a goal one minute into the game assisted by Jake Ruzycki and Greg Perri.  Midway through the first half the Fire tallied their second goal as Daniel Belcher sent a 25 yard shot past the Earthquake's goalie.  Belcher's goal was assisted by Andrew Boettger and Ron Lind.  The third goal was a thing of beauty as the Fire displayed quick precise passes resulting with Ron Lind scoring his second goal of the game assisted by Greg Perri, Nick Stovall, and Jake Ruzycki.  Zach Ronyack and Dalton Craft were in goal for the shutout.

4/24

Florence Fire - 0

West Windsor United - 2

The Fire traveled to West Windsor to battle the West Windsor United.  Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant trip.  The weather was cold, cloudy and windy and the Fire lost, 2-0.  They appeared to be sluggish throughout the game as West Windsor was able to capitalize on the Fire miscues.   The Fire had their opportunities early on but they misfired on three break aways, which gave West Windsor confidence and they slowly took over the game and scored two goals late in the first half.  The Fire just couldn't put it together as a team.  Hopefully they'll bounce back next week against the Woodstown Wildfire.

5/1

Florence Fire - 2

Woodstown Wildfire - 2

The Fire's see-saw season continues as they battled the Woodstown Wildfire to a 2-2 tie.  In the first half the Fire dominated play and quickly scored two goals.  Andrew Boettger tallied the first goal assisted by Colin O'Brien and Jake Ruzycki, and Ron Lind scored the second goal assisted by Greg Perri and Nick Stovall.  It appeared the Fire would score more before half time but missed on numerous scoring opportunities.  The second half was a complete reversal as the Fire came out flat and the Wildfire played inspired soccer as they scored two goals to tie the game.

5/8

Florence Fire - 0

West Windsor United - 2

Again, the Fire just can't put together two strong halves and are also finding it difficult scoring lately.  The West Windsor United seem to have the Fire's number this season as they defeated the Fire again by the score of 2-0.  The first half ended 0-0 with both teams playing solid soccer but missing on several good scoring opportunities.  In the second half, the Fire came out flat and it appeared that it would end in a tie but West Windsor scored two quick goals in the last eight minutes of the game off of Fire miscues on defense.

5/15

Florence Fire - 1

Northern Burlington - 5

The Fire traveled to beautiful Chesterfield to battle the Northern Burlington Dragons.  Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant trip.  The weather was warm, muggy and cloudy and the Fire lost, 5-1.  They appeared to be sluggish throughout the game as the Dragons were able to capitalize on the Fire miscues and sluggishness.   The Fire had very few scoring opportunities and their only goal was scored in the first half by Jake Ruzycki off of a nice cross by Doug MacArthur.

5/15

Florence Fire - 0

Pennsauken Hurricanes - 4

The Fire traveled to Phifer Middle School in Pennsauken to play the first place and undefeated Pennsauken Hurricanes in the "cage".  Unfortunately, it was a long day as the depleted Fire team lost 4-0.  They battled Pennsauken for most of the game, but without any subs they couldn't handle the Hurricanes' quickness and precision passing.   The Fire had some scoring opportunities but couldn't finish their shots.
